DELIVERY –
Nationwide courier delivery – $10
International – POA Once your books are out our door, we will email you a tracking number. You should get them within 3 working days. To help your parcel get to you as soon as possible, please list your mobile number and any tips about building access or drive-way drop off. For workplace deliveries, make sure you mention the company name. For urgent deliveries, international delivery or parcel problems it’s best to contact us on (09) 92 000 290. Alternatively, email hello@lamplightbooks.co.nz and we can arrange the fastest possible courier option to your area.
Parnell Pick-Up –
Lamplight Books offers a contactless service. Order by phone or via our online store and pop in and pick it up.
RETURNS –
You’re welcome to return any item within ten working days of the date of purchase. We’re happy to exchange it for another book or a gift voucher to the value of your original purchase. If you live overseas, we will accept a longer return period, provided you notify us in writing within ten days. We want all our books to find a good home, so returned items must be in their original condition. If the item is not in its original condition, Lamplight Books reserves the right to refuse a voucher or an exchange. We recommend you use a tracked service for any goods you are returning. Please allow five working days for returns to be processed. All returns need to be accompanied either by a receipt, online order number or similar proof of purchase. New Zealand Law –
Any goods supplied or sold by Lamplight Books are sold or supplied under contract of New Zealand Law. The laws of sale and contract by any other country do not apply.
Privacy –
Lamplight Books is committed to protecting the privacy of our site visitors and our in store customers. Any personal information you provide to Lamplight Books will be restricted to the use of sending you Lamplight Books news and upcoming store activities. We will not sell your name, address, email address or credit card information to any third party. Lamplight Books will hold the information securely and will not disclose it unless required by law. We will not disclose any information about our customers except where necessary to provide a service to you – e.g. courier companies making a delivery to you.
Payment –
All pricing shown is in New Zealand Dollars. GST (Goods and Services Tax) is set at 15% and is included in the retail price. Prices are subject to change without notice. In rare cases, pricing may vary from the online store to in-store. Usually, but not exclusively, this relates to discounts offered for shop wear and tear, an in-store only offer or similar circumstances. Lamplight Books takes no responsibility for the discrepancy. Payments from customers outside of New Zealand are required to be paid by credit card in New Zealand Dollars. We do not accept any other currency. Your credit card issuer may apply charges for currency conversion. Lamplight Books will not cover the cost of these charges or accept responsibility for any currency conversion charges.
We do everything we can to make sure the stock showing online is accurate, but sometimes stuff just happens! For example, an item in your shopping bag is whisked away by an in-store customer just as you hit buy. Don’t worry – if you buy a book online and it’s not available at the time of dispatch we will refund your money as soon as we begin processing your order. Dwelling –
Every day a little slice of Lamplight is powered by solar energy and rain water. That’s because Lamplight Books is located in the Geyser Building, a 6-Green Star rated commercial building. Every practicable step is taken to reduce environmental impact – from solar panels and 10,000 litre rain-water tanks to seven recycling waste streams for our in-bound delivery materials and a double skin building façade to reduce energy consumption and harness nature’s heating and cooling. That’s just how we like it. Green.
Delivery –
Where possible, Lamplight makes local deliveries by e-bike, which is also how we get to work every day. Producing and transporting books produces a lot of carbon, diesel and av-gas; however, in the last few years – due to greater consumer and industry awareness – we’ve seen publishers and distributors dramatically cut their waste. We can’t wait for the day our courier turns up in an electric van.
Disposal –
All the packaging used to send our books out into the world is either recyclable, home compostable or reusable. We hold regular ‘book swaps’ to give new life to old books. Moving house?
